• Toddler:- fitting head circumference --- 18”-19”
• Child:- fitting head circumference--- 20”-21"
• Adult:- fitting head circumference---22"-23"

• 3.5mm hook size, US hook size E/4
• 4.5mm hook size, US hook size 7
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Gauge
20dc by 9 rows = 4” ( using a 3.5 mm hook)
Adjust hook if necessary to obtain gauge

Abbreviations
• Ch: Chain
• St: Stitch
• Sl st: Slip stitch
• Dc: Double crochet
• Fpdc: Front post double crochet

Special stitch
• V-stitch: work 1dc, ch1, 1dc in the same st / sp ( in some rounds), whereas in other rounds we will work the v-st as 1dc, ch2, 1dc in the same st / sp.

Notes
• The beginning ch3 is considered as a dc.
• The beginning ch1 is not considered as a st.
• The pattern is worked in rounds.
• From round 1 till round 16 worked with a 4.5mm hook size, and from round 17 till the last round worked with a 3.5mm hook size.
• The hat is worked from top (crown) to the bottom (edge).
• A=for Adult, C=for Child, T= for Toddler
• ----- this indicate skip round for a specific round (e.g. C=----), this means skip the whole round for the child

INSTRUCTIONS
Rnd1: ch5, sl st in the 1st ch to form a ring, ch3 ( considered as a dc here & throughout), 12dc within the ring, sl st in the 1st dc to join. Total 13dc ( C= 13dc, T= 13dc)
Rnd2: ch3, dc in the same st, 2dc in each st all around, sl st in the 1st dc to join. Total 26dc ( C= 26dc, T= 26dc).
Rnd3: ch5 ( 3ch considered as dc & 2ch considered as ch sp), sk next st, dc in the next st, * ch2, sk next st, dc in the next st,* rep. from *to* all around, ch2, sl st in the 1st dc to join. Total 39sts ( C= 39sts, T= 39sts)
(Note: while counting the sts, we include the ch sp here & throughout).
Rnd4: ch3, dc in the same st, 2dc in the ch sp, * 2dc in the next st, 2dc in the next ch sp, * rep. from *to* all around, sl st in the 1st dc to join. Total 52sts (C= 52sts, T= 52sts)
Rnd5: rep. rnd 3. Total 78sts (C= 78sts, T= 78sts)
Rnd6: ch1 ( not considered as a st here & throughout), * fpdc around the 1st st (I.e. the 3ch )of the previous round, dc in the next sp, fpdc around the next st, v-st ( dc, ch1, dc) in the next sp,* rep. from *to* all around, sl st in the 1st fpdc to join. Total 78sts (C= 78sts, T=78sts)
