This Colorful Blocks Baby Blanket is a crochet baby blanket pattern, that is easy and fun to make. When designing this colourful crochet baby blanket, I was inspired by the kids building blocks.

This crochet baby blanket pattern is easy for advanced beginners to intermediate levels. The stitches used are double crochet, front and back post double crochet & the Paris stitch at the border.

White color is the main color (2balls), Blue (1ball), Baby blue (1ball), Grey (half ball), Brown (half ball), Beige (half ball) & Red (half ball).

• 50% cotton & 50%acrylic

INSTRUCTIONS

Ch 163

Row1 (RS): in WHITE, insert hook into the 4th ch (considered as dc), dc all across. (Total 161sts). Ch3. Turn.

Row2 (WS): in WHITE, make bpdc around the dc of the previous row, & all across till the last st, make dc in the last st. . Ch3. Turn.

Row3: in WHITE, make fpdc around the st of the previous row, & all across till the last st, make dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row4 &5: rep. Row2 & 3 respectively.

Row6: in WHITE, make bpdc around the next 9sts, change to BLUE, make bpdc around the next 141sts, change to WHITE, make bpdc around the next 9sts, dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row7: in WHITE, make fpdc around the next 9sts, change to BLUE, make fpdc around the next 141sts, change to WHITE, make fpdc around the next 9sts, dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row8 –17: rep. Row 6 & 7 respectively.

Row18: in WHITE, make bpdc around the next 9sts, change to BLUE, make *bpdc around the next st, ch1, sk st, bpdc around the next st,* rep. from *to* till the last st of the BLUE, change to WHITE, make bpdc around the next 9sts, dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row19: in WHITE, make fpdc around the next 9sts, change to BLUE, make *fpdc around the next st, ch1, fpdc around the next st,* rep. From *to* till the last st of the BLUE, change to WHITE, make fpdc around the next 9sts, dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row20: in WHITE, make bpdc around the next 9sts, change to BABY BLUE, make fpdc around the st of ROW 18 (I.e. we should fold ROW19 to the opposite side & work on ROW18), dc in the next ch1 sp, *fpdc around the next st, dc in the next ch1 sp, fpdc around the next st, * rep. From *to* till the last st of the BLUE, change to WHITE, make bpdc around the next 9sts, (we should work the 9sts of bpdc in WHITE on ROW 19 like the beginning of this row), dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row21: in WHITE, make fpdc around the next 19sts, change to BABY BLUE, make fpdc around the next 121sts, change to WHITE, make fpdc around the next 19sts, dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

(NOTE: we should not work the BABY BLUE colour on the ROW 19 that we folded, it’ll be left as a design.)

Row22: in WHITE, make bpdc around the next 19sts, change to BABY BLUE, make bpdc around the next 121sts, change to WHITE, make bpdc around the next 19sts, dc in the last st. Ch3. Turn.

Row23 – 31: rep. Row 21 & 22 respectively.

Start working the border

Round1: [in the first fpdc from the side make 2dc in the same st, ch2, sk next fpdc, *2dc in the next st, ch2, sk next st,* rep. From *to* till you get to the corner.

At the corner make(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the same st, ch2, sk 3sts, *dc in the next 2sts, ch2, sk 2sts,* rep. From *to* till you get to the 2nd corner. At the corner make (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the same st.] rep. The same instructions for the 2 sides.

(When you finish the round , make 2dc, ch2, & sl st to the 3rd ch of the starting ch3 st. Because that final st is our 4th corner).

Round2: sl st till you get to the first ch2 sp, make ch3( considered as dc), [*dc in the next 2sts, dc in the ch2 sp,* rep. From *to* all around & at the corners make dc on the 2sts, 3dc in the ch2 sp, dc on the 2sts.] rep. The same instructions for the 3sides. Sl st in the ch3 of the first dc.

Round3: ch3 ( considered as dc) & 2dc in the same st, ch3, sc in the same st, sk 3sts, on the 4th st make *(3dc, ch3, sc),in the same st, sk 3sts, on the next st make (3dc, ch3, sc),* rep. From *to* all around. Sl st in the 2nd ch of the starting ch3.

Fasten off, & weave in the ends.

This is the border_ Round 3 is the Paris stitch
