This Chunky Infinity Scarf is a quick crochet project to make. Advanced beginners can make this pattern as it is worked up using the Alpine stitch & Popcorn stitch, which give it a textured look.

·      Paintbox yarns simply chunky #5 from Lovecrafts. (This pattern took 2 balls of grey coloured yarn & ½ ball of red coloured yarn)

Abbreviations

·      Ch: chain

·      St: stitch

·      Sc: single crochet

·      Dc: double crochet

·      Fpdc: Front post double crochet

·      FLO: Front loop only

·      BLO: Back loop only

·      Rep.: repeat

·      RS: right side

·      WS: wrong side

·      Yo: yarn over

Get The Pattern

Special stitch

  • Popcorn stitch: dc 5 times in the same st, drop your working loop, insert your hook in the first dc of the 5-dc group, then slip back into the working loop, slip st through the 2 loops on your hook.

Note:

·      The beginning ch2 is considered as dc.

·      The pattern is worked up in rows & then the two ends are seamed together.

·      The pattern is worked up using 2 colours. The grey colour is the main colour & referred as “MC" & the red colour is the contrast colour & referred as “CC".

·      The Pattern is written in US terminology.

Instructions

Ch 21

Row1 (RS): with “MC” insert hook into the 4th ch from hook & make dc all across. Turn. (Total 19sts)

Row2 (WS): ch1, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook & make sc all across. Turn.

Row3: ch2 ( considered as dc ), *fpdc around next dc of the 1st row, dc in next st* ( skip the one st behind the fpdc just worked, when working the dc), rep. From *to* all across. Turn.

Row4: rep. Row2

Row5: ch2, dc in next st, *fpdc around the next dc of the 3rd row, dc in next st* ( skip the one st behind the fpdc just worked, when working the dc), rep. From *to* all across till the last st, dc in the last st. Turn.

Row6: rep. Row2

Row7: with “CC" rep. Row3

Row8: rep. Row2

Row9: with “MC" rep. Row5

Row10: rep. Row2

Row11: rep. Row3

Row12: rep. Row2

Row13 – 14: ch2, dc all across. Turn.

Row15: with “CC" ch2, dc in next 2sts, *Popcorn st in next st, dc in next 3sts* rep. From *to* all across. Turn.

Get The Pattern

Finishing

·      *Make sc in each st in the shorter side of the scarf, & 2sc in each dc side & a sc in each sc side all across the longer side of the scarf* rep. From *to* one more time. Ch1 to secure your work.

·      Seam both shorter sides of the scarf together using a sc. ( My favourite method is while RS is facing seam the FLO of the 1st side with the BLO of the 2nd side. Then ch1 to secure your work).
